Why is ON TRACK important?
On Track believes
strongly in working alongside and involving families and respecting
the wishes and feelings of parents and children. The emphasis
is on nipping difficulties in the bud so our services are
primarily for children aged 4-12yrs and their parents. The
extent of projects involved in On Track are shown below.
A3 Rank Project Worker -
Roie Lord-Taylor
A joint project with Portsmouth Children's Fund and Motiv8 to provide a range of diversionary activities working with other community groups in an attempt to create social cohesion. The A3 Project is in the process of moving from 147 Allaway Avenue into Paulsgrove Community Centre details to be confirmed. Roie can still be contacted at Allaway Avenue for the time being.

Early Years Nurture Support
Provides support to parents/children whose educational opportunities are at risk. Support centred on helping children to move successfully from pre-school to infant school.

Family Champions
(PYOP)
The project provides a variety of outreach support packages for families and carers with children aged 0-13. This is a joint initiative with Sure Start ABC and On-Track.

School based workers engage directly with children who suffer from persistent lateness with the aim to improve school attendance and promote positive behaviour. This takes place in the following schools:-
- Medina Primary School
- King Richard School
- Paulsgrove Primary School
- Portsdown Primary School
- Saxon Shore Infant School
- Westfield Junior School

School Counselling
Provide 1:1 and group work support to young people where there are personal or attendance difficulties. Also to involve parents where appropriate. A peer mentoring scheme and bullying support scheme are also available.
Parent Power
(Primary Behaviour Support Service)
This is a free parenting course for those with children aged 4 - 11 years old. Portsmouth Children's Fund support the training of facilitators to implement Parent Power courses.

Children's Welfare Officer
The Children's Welfare Officer engages directly with children who suffer from persistent lateness to improve school attendance, behaviour and learning. There is also a Walking bus scheme, Breakfast Club and Brownies Group.
Preventing Youth Offending
Project (PYOP)
A range of services are offered
on both an individual and group basis which aim to challenge
anti-social attitudes and behaviour. Support is also provided
to parents and siblings of young offenders.

Promoting and sharing good practice with regards to transition in schools. Supporting young people through group work activities to develop their social and emotional needs.
